Mi Band 4 which was launched in China back in June came with Near Field Communication (NFC) and microphone support but its global variant lacked these features. Now the next-generation Mi Band will reportedly come with NFC both inside and outside its domestic market -- China. But it's not clear as of now if the global variant of the device will also get built-in mic.
Xiaomi has kept the NFC feature only limited to China till now but now if it introduces the feature outside the country it will stay ahead in the global market as well.
The report suggests that in China, NFC support enables users to make contact payments and use it as a work pass. The feature if released internationally in the device, will help users in a number of ways
Considering Xiaomi's previous track records, Mi Band 5 will be revealed in the Q2 next year. It is suggested to get more advanced and durable features than the previous model.
Huami CEO, Wang Huang has already revealed that the 5th generation fitness tracker is being developed in collaboration with Huami. The company had also said that it's working on a number of other projects as well with Xiaomi.
