Jaguar I-Pace
has won three trophies at the International Engine + Powertrain of the Year
Awards. It has triumphed in Best Electric Powertrain, Best New Engine and the
257 kW to 330 kW (350 to 450PS) categories.
The
all-electric Jaguar I-Pace had also won 2019 World Car of the Year, 2019
World Car Design of the Year and 2019 World Green Car trophies at the 2019
World Car Awards.
The International
Engine + Powertrain of the Year Awards were declared at the Engine Expo + The
Powertrain Technology Show in Stuttgart. The winners were chosen by a panel
comprising of 70 expert motoring journalists from 31 countries.
Jaguar I-Pace gets
two light and compact electric motors that generate a combined output of 294 kW
and 696 Nm of torque. The motors are light and weigh 78 kgs along with the
transmission. The permanent magnet motors are hollow, with the driveshafts
passing through the centre. It can make 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.5 seconds.
Boasting of an all-wheel drive, I-Pace gets regenerative braking of up to 0.4
G.
With a 90 kW
lithium-ion battery, Jaguar I Pace has a range of 470 kms. The car can be
charged up to 80 per cent in 40 minutes using a 100 kW DC charger. The same
amount of charge can be achieved by using a 7 kW AC wall box in just over ten
hours. The battery is placed centrally between the two axles and very low,
enabling 50:50 weight distribution and a low centre of gravity
The car gets a
cab-forward profile, short overhangs and muscular haunches. Jaguar I-Pace has
got a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating as well. Over than 11,000 units of I Pace
have been sold in more than 60 countries till date.

Hoban added.
Jaguar I-Pace gets a
spacious cabin, 656-litre luggage compartment and ground clearance matching
that of an SUV, claims the company. The all-electric car features technologies
like a battery pre-conditioning system and heat pump.
